Collin Joseph Law
Biology, School/University Entrance Exam
Collin uses multiple methods of teaching to meet students where they need him so they can collaborate as partners to achieve students’ goals.
Collin received his B.A. (magna cum laude) in Evolution, Ecology, and Environmental Biology from Columbia University, and he later became a J.D. Candidate at Yale Law School. He has scored in the 99th percentile on all the standardized tests he teaches.
With 12 years of teaching experience, Collin is an expert in teaching all of the following:
- Test Preparation (SAT, SAT Subjects, SSAT, TOEFL, IELTS, GRE, GMAT, LSAT, AP)
- English Language & Academic Writing (College Instructor in Kazakhstan)
- Biology (Teaching Fellow at Yale University)
- Math and Science
Collin held a research fellowship in a molecular genetics lab during his undergraduate years at Columbia, so when he explains PCR or DNA sequencing to students, he is talking from experience.
Collin does not only teach language, but he is also a great student of language. He has been diligently studying Mandarin Chinese since he was a college student, and French, too, albeit a bit less diligently. He learns new characters every day, but he can’t speak any Cantonese yet.
Collin’s experience and background make him a good teacher for students who are intellectually curious and highly motivated to be the best person they can be. Dynamic, Empathetic, Motivating.
