Scott's teaching approach emphasizes engagement, interactivity, and hands-on learning. He believes in a student-centered approach that acknowledges the need for greater autonomy and independence for some learners.

Scott graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia, with a B.A. in International Studies. He also minored in Business and French at the same university. After graduation, he decided to travel the world and experience new cultures as the most practical way to apply his degree. He started teaching in Seoul, South Korea, before moving to Ningbo, China, and eventually settling in Hong Kong. He finds teaching fulfilling and enjoys helping students learn.

With over 8 years of teaching experience, Scott has taught the following subjects:

  • Test Preparation (SAT, GMAT, and TOEFL)
  • English (IB PYP, HKDSE, Cambridge International Curriculum & Adult Business English)
  • STEM Biology
  • STEM Programming
  • Language Arts

Scott has taught students of all ages and levels across Asia, in both public and private schools. He uses a combination of multimedia resources, group discussions, project-based assignments, and real-world applications to encourage critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and collaboration among his students.

Scott aims to create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment where students feel respected, heard, and empowered to take ownership of their learning journey. He acts as a facilitator, guiding students toward understanding and encouraging them to explore their interests while providing constructive feedback and mentorship.

In his leisure time, he enjoys reading, writing, and going to the gym.
