Ivy’s teaching style is authentic, flexible, adaptable, and organized.
Ivy received her B.A. (Honours) in Contemporary English and Education at Lingnan University and The Education University of Hong Kong, York University. She went on to get an OISE Certificate in International Education for International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) at the University of Toronto OISE. She has attained the Hong Kong Education Bureau’s Language Proficiency Requirement (LPR) as a qualified English teacher in Hong Kong. As a responsible and caring teacher, Ivy has the Certificate of Child Protection for International Schools.
With 7+ years of teaching experience, Ivy has taught the following subjects:
- English (IB/IGCSE/A-Level)
- IELTS/TOEFL
- English Study Skills for Academic Purposes (Reading, Writing, Speaking & Listening)
Ivy believes that teaching involves plenty of reciprocal interactions that allow her to share knowledge with her students and get inspiration from their brilliant ideas. She encourages inquisitive and reflective thinking in the learning process. She enjoys teaching because it is dynamic and connecting.
Given that the world is rapidly changing and the human race has encountered numerous challenges in the previous few years, Ivy successfully guided her students to adjust their learning routines and adapt to overcome learning difficulties. Ivy not only teaches but also demonstrates resilience in her class.
Ivy loves reading, watching movies, and writing journals. She also enjoys going into nature, visiting museums, going to the gym, and doing cardio.
