Joe received his M.B.A. in Finance from The Wharton School, where he wrote a thesis on the development of the California economy. He received his undergraduate degree in international relations, with honors, from Stanford University.
After graduating from the Wharton School, Joe joined Houlihan Lokey, Wall Street’s preeminent financial restructuring firm. During his time as an investment banker at Houlihan Lokey, Joe focused on private placements of debt and equity securities in connection with restructurings, refinancings, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, growth capital, and acquisitions.
Prior to attending graduate school, Joe served on the executive management team of the Cambridge Farms Supermarkets Group and also taught GMAT, GRE, and LSAT.
Joe has worked as an admissions advisor for the better part of a decade and also serves as a Managing Member of a private investment fund and on the Board of Trustees of a women’s violence prevention center foundation.
Joe is a frequent writer, blogger, lecturer and speaker on financial and economic issues. He has taught finance at UCLA Extension and is working on his first book.
